My name is Matthias, but most people just call me Matti!

I’m a laid back and relaxed person and my approach to photography is just the same. I like to make people feel comfortable as I find that this brings out the best images and the most natural situations. I’m all for the natural, brilliant and chaotic that comes out in the everyday - no posing, no setups, no fuss.

I first picked up a camera in 2009, taking travel photographs on a trip to Malawi and thinking I was actually alright at this photography lark. From there I slowly began shooting actors’ headshots, then weddings, and before I knew it I was becoming a serious photographer with a whole portfolio behind me!

In my day-to-day life, I am happiest outdoors, usually with my camera by my side, of course. There is nothing better than climbing a mountain or visiting an island with my fiancee and exploring all that the Highlands have to offer, at all times of the year.

I also have a great love for theatre and musicals, and perform in various productions on stages in Inverness and beyond several times a year. You’ll often find me on stage with Inverness Musical Theatre, Starlight Musical Theatre and the Florians. I’m a keen cyclist, runner and badminton player and have even been known to don a pair of skis!
